Cycling the Greenway Trail

Video of the Greenway Trail on the east side of the River in Peterborough, Ontario.

As part of the ongoing The Peterborough Cycling VideoMap Project, we have just added segmented video of a late afternoon tour up the East side of the city from Hunter to Trent University.

We start out at Hunter Street, just east of Reggie’s Hot Grill and head North to Parkhill. There is no sound in this video due to some weird noises along the route. Do you prefer the videos with sound on or off? Leave a comment to let us know.

The second segment is from Parkhill Street to Whitaker Street, just north of the bridge over the Otonabee to Hilliard and Water at Jo Anne’s Place health foods store. This segment is rendered on YouTube in higher resolution. Is it worth the extra disk space (over 80 megs more)?

On northward from Whitaker, up to Amour Road

And then, finally, Armour Road to Trent. From Trent, most riders head north through the University and on up to Lakefield but you can cross the River to connect up via the Zoo with the Parkway Trail down to Jackson Creek.

Although under threat due to City Council’s plans for the Parkway Extension, Peterborough is blessed with this trail network.
