Peterborough Community Bike Shop 2012 Spring Workshop Series set to go
B!ke, the Peterborough Community Bike Shop, is running its popular (and hugely practical) series of bike repair workshops through the spring starting this Sunday. These friendly and set-your-own-pace workshops are great ways to learn the ins and outs of basic bike repair and maintenance (we know, we’ve taken them).
Nothing sucks the fun out of riding like a bike that doesn’t work well, so a well-maintained bike is essential to everyday bike riding. Every bike rider should consider at least a few these workshops (or better yet, all of them). You’ll be amazed at what you can do and the difference that understanding how your bike works makes to your bike riding peace of mind. Learn the basics during the workshop and then hang around to work on your bike and practice your new skills (not to mention chat with other bike owners and the friendly staff). Then use your skills to keep your bike in top-notch running condition all year. The workshops are a great way to review your basic skills, too.
The courses and dates are:
- Flat! A how-to on patches, tubes and tires | April 29th, 12:30-2pm
- Brake Adjustment & Maintenance | May 6th, 12:30-2pm
- Shifter & Derailleur Adjustment & Maintenance | May 13th, 12:30-2pm
- Wheel Truing | May 27th, 12:30-2pm
