Shifting Gears—Act II

Peterborough’s “Get Out of Your Car” Month moves into its second half

It is the 16th and Peterborough is halfway through the Shifting Gears Workplace Transportation Challenge. What better way to mark the occasion than Bikefest, a celebration of all things cyclelogical today from 2:00 to 5:00 pm in Millennium Park, down by the Silver Bean Café. Bikefest will feature displays from several bike organizations and shops, give-aways, food and free bike check-ups.

So take a late lunch, move your day around or just play hooky and get down to Millennium Park this afternoon and get bikey.

You can still sign up for the shifting gears challenge and qualify for weekly prizes. Walk, bus, bike or carpool to work for the month of May (or every month!). Get you and the environment healthier, put money in your pocket and show the world what Peterborough can do.

Of course, earlier in the day, don’t forget to stop by the Peterborough Downtown Farmers’ Market 8:30 – 2:00 at the Louis Street parking lot, off Charlotte, west of George!

Now, let’s just hope that rain holds off!
