Peterborough racks up over 190,000 kilometers of alternate travel in May
It is June 1st and the 2012 Shifting Gears Workplace Transportation Challenge is over for another year. Cycling participants made nearly 10,000 bike trips!
As of this morning, the statistics on the Shifting Gears website looked impressive:
Telecommuting: 539 – 9190 km
Walking Trips: 6424 – 33266 km
Bike Trips: 9727 – 73514 km
Bus Trips: 1479 – 11368 km
Carpools: 4128 – 68606 km
Drives: 6724 – 73661 km
CO2 Saved: 37403 kg
That’s a lot of pollution reduction, healthier people, and money in people’s pockets!
