First grand tour race win by any Canadian.
While not everyone is into road racing, what Canadian cyclist can’t be happy at the news that a Canadian, Ryder Hesjedal of Victoria, has finally won a grand tour bicycle race. Ryder Hesjedal became Canada’s first grand tour winner taking a come-from-behind win in the last stage over Spaniard Joaquim RodrĂguez. Ryder was thirty-one seconds behind the Spaniard at the start of the final time-trial run and wound up 16 seconds ahead after all was said and done.
Congratulations Ryder!
