The City of Peterborough has released their plans for city cycling infrastructure in 2015. Upgrades include extended bike lanes, separated bike lanes and extensions to the city trail network. While some fall short of what the cycling community had hoped for, all are welcome additions and improvements to cycling in the City. Read More …

Let’s face it, the relationship between the City and the Peterborough Cycling Community is something like a good ride: it has its fair share of ups and downs. We have seen some real advancement, like bike lane improvements and plans for active transportation infrastructure. On the other hand, we have seen some setbacks, like the loss of downtown bike racks and, well…everything to do with the Parkway. While we have been vocal in our critique at times, it is only fair that we send laurels when the City does something right. Read More …
July turned out to be a pretty good month for Peterborough Cyclists, especially those who cross the Otonabee River in the Downtown Area. Two long-awaited events occurred within days of each other: bike lanes were finally painted on the Hunter Street Bridge and the pedestrian/bike bridge at the CPR bridge was, unofficially at least, reopened.
